MANHATTAN II

Remember Manhattan? I mean the song Manhattan? Of course not. But it was a blog post a couple of weeks back. It was the song I "dreamed" and that actually worked even awake. I decided to write about what happens to it, then. So....
From the start it was a slow almost chorale like song that we played around with in the studio. I turnet the tempo up and it worked fine. I put a keyboard in, playing the guitar chords in 1/8 tempo. Added a bass and put in some straight drum machine drums and ... it sounds (yes still awful I know, but) like we are getting somewhere.
It's still called Manhattan, in place of a better name, but the songs name will come out of the lyrics. It usually does. Up until now I'v written all the lyrics for Gus songs but Challe, or Charlotta Wilson as she's christened, is having a go at it. She's working with it but I haven't seen anything yet. And... it's kind of hard to write a lyric. It is. And Challe, being a english teacher, may be she feels the pressure more than I do when writing. Anyway there is no hurry som eventually it will have lyrics to.
Below is a clip of the song as it sounds right now. I'v put a guitar in, playing what can be the melody carried by the lead vocal later, so you can feel where the song is going. It's has lot of effects to it but.... it's guitar you hear.
